Hello there! And welcome to the very first Little Blog of Menopause! This is an introduction

and, to an extent, a contents page; a chance for me to explain what these blogs are all about and what I will be looking at in each one as we go through the year.
Nutrition can and does play a huge part in our menopause and it's symptoms. Some foods will make certain symptoms worse and some foods will help reduce certain symptoms to almost nothing. And yes, a diet filled with home cooked whole foods, avoiding ultra processed, ultra refined and sweetened additives is definitely recommended! But here, I want to concentrate on those specific foods which will trigger symptoms and those specific foods which will help.
Every month I will be sharing 4 recipes with you; each one designed to help with the symptom of that month, alongside a list of foods to avoid.
Next month, February, we will be looking at Hot Flashes, the bane of so many women and one that can have such a profound effect on us. Sugar is the number one culprit so I will be talking about how to sweeten your food without using refined sugar or problematic sweeteners. This month's featured recipe will be a plant based sugar-free blueberry cheese cake, along with a breakfast, a lunch and a supper that will help keep you cool.

In March we will be looking at Mood Swings - irritability, anxiety, depression, anger, despair, you know what I'm talking about. March's featured recipe will be a plant based sugar-free chocolate mint cookie, along with a breakfast, a lunch and a supper that will help keep your mood balanced.
In April we will be looking at Heart Palpitations. A horrible symptom. This month's featured recipe will be a plant based, gluten free and sugar-free banana bread, along with a breakfast, a lunch and a supper that will help keep you steady.
In May we tackle Brain Fog. I'll show you how to lift those clouds. This month's featured recipe will be a plant based sugar-free no-bake walnut & pumpkin seed bars, along with a breakfast, a lunch and a supper that will help keep you focused.
In June we look at Weight Gain & the Metabolism. As if we don't have enough on our plates, we have to deal with this too?!? The good news is YES! We can deal with this and reclaim our lost bodies. This month's featured recipe will be a plant based sugar-free protein pancakes, along with a breakfast, a lunch and a supper that will help you back to your old self.
In July we look at Hair Loss. It's our crowning glory, lets keep it that way. This month's featured recipe will be a plant based sugar-free kiwi sorbet, along with a breakfast, a lunch and a supper that will help keep you glorious.

In August we look at Headaches & Migraines. Another horrible symptom. This month's featured recipe will be a plant based sugar-free cantaloup & pomegranate ice cream, along with a breakfast, a lunch and a supper that will help keep you thinking straight.
In September we look at Bone Health. Essential as we age. This month's featured recipe will be a plant based sugar-free smoothie rich in silken tofu, berries and macha powder, along with a breakfast, a lunch and a supper that will help keep you strong.
In October we look at Sleep Issues. Insomnia is no joke but there are answers. This month's featured recipe will be a plant based sugar-free cherry & pistachio chocolate bark, along with a breakfast, a lunch and a supper that will help keep you refreshed.
